Dietmar Harteveld – Responsible for €1.5 Billion of spend
Dietmar Harteveld is currently Director of Indirect Material for North West Europe at Siemens : covering the UK, the Nordics, Poland and the Netherlands. In this role, he is responsible for leading a team of Sourcing professionals to develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for procurement spend of circa €1.5 billion of goods and services for internal consumption. This span of control includes Professional Services, Industrial Services, Mobility Services, IT, Logistics, Procurement Operations and tools and systems such as e-Sourcing.
Dietmar has chaired a number of procurement round tables as well as being a member of the PSL network www.pslcbi.com
Dietmar has a bachelor degree in Electrical and Electronic engineering and prior to joining Siemens worked for Emerson Electric where he acquired extensive experience in Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management.
Dietmar has worked in Supply Chain Management for the last 20 years and has established an in-depth understanding of strategic sourcing while holding several domestic, regional and global leadership positions with a focus on Supply Chain Management. Dietmar has also been instrumental in transforming organizations from sometimes dysfunctional operations to ones regarded as “World Class” with a focus on “systematic management”.
The opportunity to reach a broad audience in a real time, face to face environment was just too compelling to ignore especially when you consider the breadth and depth of knowledge in the North of England.
